Psychological Testing

Discover Insights Through Psychological Testing

Psychological testing is the use of norms-based standardized measures to acquire specific information related to one’s baseline functioning in various areas. Some common reasons people seek testing include getting a second opinion, special education placement, diagnostic clarification, or to learn about oneself. Additionally, psychological testing is helpful because it identifies a baseline of functioning that can be used to tailor treatment to a person’s individualized needs.

Some of the areas that are measured with psychological testing include:

  • Intellectual functioning (i.e., IQ)
  • ADHD and executive functioning
  • Mood or other psychological diagnosis
  • Memory
  • Verbal skills and expressive language
  • Academic achievement
  • Personality functioning
  • Developmental concerns
