Frequently Asked Questions

At Discovery Psychology, we're here to help you! If you have questions about our services or how we can support you and your loved ones, check out our frequently asked questions below. We're dedicated to guiding you on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I am an in-network provider with United/Optum, Tricare and TriWest. If you have a different plan, it may cover a percentage of services out-of-network. If you decide to use out-of-network benefits, my office can provide you with an itemized receipt (a superbill) that includes the necessary codes that you can submit directly to your plan for direct reimbursement. For information about reimbursement rates, please contact your insurance provider and ask about out-of-network benefits.

  • What are your fees?

My fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $175.

My fee per hour of assessment, including face-to-face testing, scoring and report-writing is $175. The typical time frame for testing (including face-to-face testing) is between 8 and 12 hours in total; however the total time could be more or less depending on the referral questions, tests administered and complexity of the assessment.

  • How frequently do you see patients?

The standard for individual therapy once per week. However, the frequency of sessions can change depending on the needs of the patient.

  • If my child is in therapy, how will I be involved?

I like to include family as much as practically possible when working with children. For children and families, I typically schedule an initial session with both parents before meeting with the child to ensure goodness of fit and to gather necessary background information and history. Additionally, I typically schedule routine follow-up appointments with family members to discuss treatment progress and goals for their children.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that patients cancel with at least 24 hours notice. I charge a fee of $100 if a patient cancels with less than 24 hours notice or does not show for a scheduled appointment.

  • Do you collaborate with other professionals?

I am open to collaborating with physicians, psychiatrists, teachers, and other professionals involved in your care at your request. Because all information discussed in therapy is confidential, adult patients as well as parents of minors must sign a Release of Information form with the name and contact details of the professional(s) with whom you would like me to share information with.
